This toy box/coffee table is really beautiful. The color is a very close match to my Wash Oak floors, which was what I wanted. It’s going to be placed in a space under my staircase.I will say that putting it together was easy, however, I needed a Phillips head screwdriver and a power drill along with the provided Allen wrench. The holes on the lid for the hinges and closer were only dimples and I had to drill them to be able to get the screws in. I’m not sure why those holes were not deep enough when all of the others were. Someday when my grandkids are older I’ll use this as an accent piece and store blankets.All in all it’s a great piece, I love it.Love this! It has a nice gray/brown wood like grain and has a very durable hinge to keep it from slamming shut so its safe for the kids. Its a little smaller than I expected, but nicely deep. So far it holds everything I need it to. I purchased this basically to see how it looked. Went together easy enough but some of the predrilled holes for the bolts are too deep and when the bolt goes in there is a noticeable "rim." I used some brown stain on these so they weren't so noticeable. The lid is light enough but I thought there would be two slow close hinges. One does work however considering how light the lid is. I'm not sure why the description says 2 safety hinges. I used PL adhesive when attaching the hinges because I'm not convinced the small screws will hold up to hundreds of openings and closings. The side panels were also loose within the frame. I added some glue so they stayed tight.Overall for the price not impressed. I think you are paying for the "rustic" look.My only complaint with this product is that it is not real wood. It is a particle board covered with a plastic print of a wood grain. The assembly was easy and the pre-drilled holes were surprisingly precise. The allen key provided to assemble the bench was so soft that it deformed half way through the assembly and I needed to get my own to finish. The completed piece looks like a sturdy storage box but I doubt that it is strong enough to be used as a bench. All in all, decent for the price but not great.I like it but it's defected.. and I can't even get a discount on it I have to return it it was given as a gift do not buy this garbageThins looks good and feels sturdy. It went together fairly easily, except for the very last step. The spring arm (lift support) hinge is completely locked it place. So since it is immovable, I won't be to use it. The chest still seems very solid, I'll just have to be bit more gentle opening and closing it.It looks great but a pain in the neck to assemble. I literally had to take every piece apart and turn it upside down, back to front or left to right to get it all to fit together. Also, the screw don’t always go in all the way making it look not-great and could lead to clothes or fingers getting caught on it
